StringTweaker 1.0
Finally, I have the first, bare bones edition of StringTweaker published. It took about two weeks of working on it part-time to get this far. Nothing fancy yet, just setup the basic transcription request mechanism.
I'm trying to find out how many people are looking for tabs (or audio, or video demonstration) of how to play a guitar part. There are a million tab sites out there, and sometimes you find a good tab, but a lot of times you don't. You just find what is at best a crappy suggestion. So, if you want to find out how something REALLY goes on guitar, then submit a transcription request and I'll show you. I have some really great technology at my disposal, a great ear, and 26 years of experience to draw on to produce the tabs.
I used to play in a cover band (Monkey Knife Fight, SJ, CA - http://www.mkfrocks.com/) that played covers all night long. So I'm pretty good at figuring out how tunes go, what all the parts are, and getting it all done before Friday night (gig night).
I'm also wondering how many people who are in that same boat (being a working musician) but just don't have the time to figure all of these tunes out. Would you use a transcription service that was quick, cheap and produced high quality tabs and/or demonstrations? Let me know.
If it looks like I get enough interest, I'll turn on some of the more advanced features and get this thing going, so your feedback is crucial to the future of StringTweaker.
Until then, I'll keep operating the site in the low volume, free mode that it is in.
OK, well that's it for my first blog entry... Keep on jammin',
